2009 Miss Seafair Jackie Saarenas said goodbye, 2010 FCS Princess Kristine Tan said hello Print E-mail
Wednesday, 28 July 2010
July 27, 2010.  After a delicious salmon meal at Salty's, numerous memorable moments occurred that magical night when our 2009 SeaFair Princess Jackie Saarenas gave her heartfelt farewell address.  She knighted FCS' own FCS SeaFair Princess Coordinator June Mata-Alvarez, the "Queen of the Smiles".  This intoxicating tribute for the ever humble June was made with Queen Saarenas knighting Ms. Mata-Alvarez with her starred staff and pinning of a special medal on her.  Congratulations June!!

2010 FCS SeaFair Princess Kristine Tan did quite well garnering first place for the Banner Bank Academic Award, one of the five awarded the Seattle Jaycees Miss Community Service Award and as well as being the sole recipient of the People's Choice Award.  Ms. Tan was well supported by SeaFair mom Mary Cube Valmonte.  As Ms. Saarenas and the SeaFair princesses were quickly inundated with photographers, I took a photo of Ms. Saarenas with the 2010 FCS SeaFair Princess Kristine Tan and the cutie pie future FCS SeaFair Princess contender from the Adams-Victoriano clan.

Many thanks to the excellent FCS representation by Interim FCS President Frank Palisoc, former President Bert Caoili, Board Members Aurora Turla, Tom Landas, Maria Batayola, staff Myrna Victoriano, FAEW activists Loren and Manny Divina.  Their presence along with the Saarenas and Tan families and friends showed the Filipino community's strong support for SeaFair.  The 2010 SeaFair Queen will be announced before the Torch Light Parade this Saturday July 31, 2010.

Update from Maria Batayola
