UPDATES ON THE VOTERS’ IDs

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco would like to inform our Kababayans that the printing and issuance of Voters’ Identification Cards by the Commission on Elections was temporarily suspended

The Philippine Consulate would also like to assure our Kababayans that the lack of Voter’s ID shall not be a bar in the exercise of the right to suffrage.  What matters is that the overseas absentee voter is registered or his or her name appears in the certified list of overseas absentee voters (CLOAV).  It is also not mandatory for an Overseas Absentee Voter to present his or her voter’s ID before voting at the Philippine Consulate.

Kababayans are advised to visit http://www.comelec.gov.ph/oavlist/findpost.aspx to check if they are registered as Overseas Absentee Voters.

Since February 17, 2010, the Commission on Elections has started sending the ballots for the Philippine presidential and senatorial elections.  Many of our Kababayans have received their ballots.

For Kababayans who have not received their ballots, please call or visit the Philippine Consulate for updates.

Maki-alam, makialam.
